Nightmare TV ("Nightmare", "we", "our") is a desktop IPTV player developed by Tevfik Çapar, an individual developer based in Türkiye. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, what we don't, and how you can control it.
1. Data We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect, store, or transmit your Xtream credentials, M3U URLs, or EPG feeds. These are stored locally on your device only.
- We do not record what channels you watch, which movies you play, or how long you use the app.
- We do not maintain user accounts. There is no "Nightmare account" to sign up for.
- We do not sell, rent, or share any user data with third parties for advertising.
- We do not use tracking cookies on this website beyond what is strictly necessary.
2. Data We Collect
2.1 License verification
When you activate a license, Nightmare contacts our license server at license.nightmaretv.net. We store:
- Your license key (issued by Lemon Squeezy after purchase)
- A device identifier (random UUID generated on your device, not tied to hardware serial)
- Operating system name and app version
- Timestamps (first seen, last seen)
- The email address you used at checkout (so we can support you)
This data is used solely to enforce the device limit (2 per license) and to provide support. It is stored in Cloudflare Workers KV in encrypted form and is never shared with third parties.
2.2 Payment data
Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, LLC, a Delaware-based company that acts as the Merchant of Record. We never see, store, or process your credit card number, CVC, or banking details. Lemon Squeezy's privacy policy applies to the payment transaction: lemonsqueezy.com/privacy.
After purchase, Lemon Squeezy sends us a webhook containing your order ID, email, license key, and purchase plan. We do not receive your card details.
2.3 Optional crash reports (Sentry)
Nightmare ships with a crash-reporting integration (Sentry) that is disabled by default. You can opt in via Settings → Diagnostics. When enabled, an anonymized stack trace and basic app context (OS, app version, locale) are sent to Sentry if the app crashes. You can revoke consent at any time.
2.4 Website analytics
This website (nightmaretv.net) may use Cloudflare's built-in Web Analytics, which counts page views without using cookies and without collecting personal information.
3. Where Your Data Is Stored
- Your device: Playlists, credentials, watch history, preferences, cached EPG and artwork.
- Cloudflare Workers KV (EU / Global edge): License record and masked device list.
- Lemon Squeezy (USA): Order, invoice, and tax data retained per Lemon Squeezy's policy.
- Sentry (USA/EU, opt-in only): Crash stack traces, retained 90 days.
4. Your Rights
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Türkiye (KVKK), or California (CCPA), you have the right to:
- Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements for tax and accounting)
- Withdraw consent for optional features (crash reporting) at any time from inside the app
- Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority
To exercise any of these rights, email support@nightmaretv.net. We will respond within 30 days.
5. Data Retention
- License records are kept for as long as the license is active, plus 3 years after expiry for fraud prevention.
- Order and tax data is retained by Lemon Squeezy for at least 7 years as required by accounting regulations.
- Opt-in crash reports are retained for 90 days.
- Support email threads are kept for 2 years unless you request earlier deletion.
6. Children
Nightmare is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
7. Security
License records are transmitted over HTTPS (TLS 1.3). Webhooks from Lemon Squeezy are verified with HMAC-SHA256 signatures. KV keys are scoped to the Worker. No system is perfectly secure — but Nightmare minimizes the surface by storing as little as possible.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on nightmaretv.net and in the in-app changelog. Continued use after a change indicates acceptance.
